On August 15, The Crossword School started off Independence Day celebrations with the hoisting of the national flag by the school Director, Chenna Kesava Reddy Madduri sir in the school ground. Following this were patriotic songs and speeches. The Param Vir Chakra recipients were honoured and students got to know about their prominence and sacrifices to the nation. The new SPL and ASPL were inaugurated, who were elected by the classes 4-10 on August 14.

Class 10 toppers of the 2023 batch were conferred with cash prizes for their excellence at SSC board exams. Along with them, medals were given to students of classes 4 and 5 (of last year) who excelled at Olympiad exams conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation. Tanish Reddy Pulicharla (of current class 5) secured international rank 1 in Math Olympiad. Lastly, the winners of drawing competition conducted by IndusInd bank were given trophies.

“Seeing kids celebrating the most prestigious day of our country with so much patriotism overwhelms me with happiness” said the Principal Naga Padmaja mam.
The Director sir opined, “I am very glad that all of you participated well and co-operated in making this Independence Day a grand success. I am also happy to see the old students in the campus to share the day with us.”

The programme ended with a vote of thanks: the social teacher Laxmi Kumari mam was lauded for her valuable contribution in organizing a presentation our brave hearts, the Param Vir Chakra recipients; Srujana mam and Elizabeth mam were appreciated for their tireless efforts at song rehearsals. Throughout the event, Aashritha and Saranya from class 10 skilfully anchored.

“I’m very happy to be here in our school for the Independence Day celebrations. I got to meet all of my friends and juniors” said one of the alumni.
